Brutus Monroe Team Hop – Watercolor

Hey y’all!

It’s time for another Wednesday edition of the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team Hop! This week’s theme is Watercolor, and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve made.

The star of the show this week is definitely the new line of Aqua Pigments from Brutus Monroe. These are liquid watercolors and are extremely pigmented! The colors are stunning and I can’t wait to have the entire collection.

To start off  my card, I used Embossing Ink and Alabaster Embossing Powder to heat set my sentiment ‘sprinkled with love.’ Then, I wet my cardstock using a water brush. Then, I used a palette to hold a couple of drops of Aqua Pigments in Green, Turquoise, and PinkPink. You don’t need much – just a tiny bit goes a long way! I used my water brush to dip into the Aqua Pigments and then brushed each color onto my card front. I wanted a very loose and splattered sort of look, so I made sure to let my colors run a little bit so they didn’t look to uniform or orderly. I blotted up the excess color with a clean paper towel.

To add a little more interest to my background, I grabbed some Alabaster Pigment Ink Alabaster Pigment Ink and smeared it on my media mat. I spritzed it once with some water, just to make it easier to move around. I grabbed a Splatter Brush and flicked on some white flecks. I love the way this added dimension to my card.

Next, I grabbed my favorite ice cream from Sprinkled With Love and colored it with Copic markers. I used a gel pen for a few white accents. I fussy cut the ice cream and adhered it to my card front. I also used a couple of white sequins to add some interest – I placed a drop of glossy accents in each sequin for a different look!

Aqua Pigments are excellent for making awesome backgrounds without all of the hard work. What are you going to make with your Aqua Pigments? Do you already have some or are you off to grab them now?
