Altenew Educator Certification Program – For The Guys

Hey friends!

I am excited to have completed another course for the Altenew Educator Certification Program (AECP). This one is called ‘For the Guys’ and is all about ways to do the impossible (or at least what feels impossible for me) – Make masculine cards. I have to admit – masculine cards are extremely hard for me. I always want to add a little glitter or sparkle in some way or another. This class really pushed me out of my comfort zone.

For my card, I used a couple of Altenew stamp sets. I used Gradient Stripes for my background in Navy ink. I used Be Strong for the adorable cacti and party lights (seriously, how cute are those!?), and Happy Holidays for my sentiment.

I colored up the cacti with Copic markers and added some gel pen accents in the highlight areas. I cut a strip of patterened paper (wood grain) for the ‘floor’ and popped my cacti up on foam over this.

I colored and fussy cut two strips of light (there are two sizes in the set, which is so cool!), and popped the smaller set up on foam for some fun dimension. I also stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, ‘sending warm wishes your way.’ I thought this was perfect for a card full of cacti – don’t you?

I hope you love this project. Tell me in the comments – Did I nail the masculine card or is it still too ‘girly’ for your taste?

Hugs and love to you,

I love succulents! When I came across your card, this is one I would like to receive for myself even though you had masculine intention for it. Love! ❤❤❤
