Brutus Monroe Team Hop: Mask-erade!

Hey friends!

It’s time for another Wednesday edition of the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team Blog Hop. Yay! This week’s theme is ‘Mask-erade!’ We’re all showcasing cards featuring the Brutus Monroe Masking Paper.

For my card, I knew I wanted to use the Birthday Memories stamp set. I just couldn’t resist these cute critters in their Polaroid frame. Too adorable! To get started, I used my Mini MISTI to stamp out the frame in Raven Detail Ink. I grabbed my brand new Purple Tape and masked off the inside edges of the frame so that my critters would be contained inside the framed area.

I started off with the critter I wanted up front and stamped him out. I stamped him again on the masking paper and cut it out with my brand new Fussy Cutting Scissors! They cut this out like a dream! I repeated this same process with all of my other critters, using my masking paper to cover up each image as I went so it gives the appearance that all of these critters are crowded into the frame for their photo op.

Once I was done with my masking, I used my Mini MISTI to stamp out the speech bubbles and sentiments ‘wow!’ and ‘what?!’ in the upper area of the photo. I used a couple of Copic markers to color in the background so it wasn’t stark white. I also stamped the sentiment ‘from all of us’ on the bottom area of the frame. I fussy cut the Polaroid image and used washi tape to adhere it to the inside of my card base.

I stamped the same Polaroid frame on the front of my card as well. I used my paper trimmer to cut the interior part of the photo out. This gave me a windowed effect for my card. When the card is closed, you see just the photo area through the window. Then, you open the card and see the ‘from all of us’ message. Cute!

I used my Blueberry Metallic Aqua Pigment to color in the frame on my card front and die cut the Happy Birthday Die from Charcoal Glitterstock. I added a few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh in Navy to finish off my card.
