Brutus Monroe | Inspiration Team Blog Hop | Color Crush

Hey friends!

Today is another hop with the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team! This week’s theme is ‘Color Crush.’ This means we all use the same color palette as inspiration for our projects. Here’s a look at the photo we’re using for inspiration!

Alright, now that we’ve seen the inspiration behind our color palette, let’s make a card! Since this card has such a strong summer vibe, I wanted to incorporate that into my project.

I started by applying Surface Inks directly to a piece of white card stock. I used Jack O Lantern and Zest and also incorporated two of the Pink & Main Surface Ink colors – Boutique and The Park. I absolutely love how these colors work together!

After I applied the ink to the card stock, I laid the ‘hello’ die on top and used a pencil to trace the outline of the metal die. I used my Fussy Cutting Scissors to cut out the shape. This gave me a shadow for my ‘hello’ die cut! I ran the die through my Cuttlebug with white card stock and then layered it on top of my colorful shadow layer.

I used the lower case alphabet dies to cut the word ‘summer’ from black card stock. I used some handy dandy purple tape to help me get my letters nice and straight and then used the Craft Glue to adhere it to a piece of white card stock. I also glued the hello die cut and shadow layer to my white card stock as well.

I used the 1/8″ foam tape to pop up my card front and adhered it to a white card base. I’m absolutely loving the white on white here! I added a few bright green sequins and that finished the card! Let’s check out what the rest of the team made:
