Brutus Monroe Team Hop – Favorite Florals

Hey y’all!

It’s another Brutus Monroe Team Hop Wednesday and I can’t wait for you to see all of the gorgeous cards the team has created for this week’s theme: Favorite Florals. If you’ve been following my blog or keeping up with my Instagram, you probably already know what my favorite floral image from Brutus Monroe is – if not, stay tuned to see what I created!

I knew I wanted to really get the most out of the floral stamp I chose, so I decided to do some repeat stamping and heat emboss my background. To start off, I grabbed the Botanical Banners stamp set and stamped it on white cardstock with Embossing Ink. I love that this ink stays wet until you emboss it, so you’re not rushed to get the powder on before it dries. As I worked I repeated the same pattern – stamp, pour on powder, heat set. I repeated this until I filled my whole piece of cardstock with this gorgeous floral image. I used Gilded embossing powder, of course!

Once all of my stamping and embossing was done, I grabbed a piece of vellum and cut it down to size. I also cut a strip of black cardstock smaller than my vellum so I could layer them together. I snagged a sentiment from Make a Wish from My Favorite Things and stamped that using Embossing Ink. I heat set it with Gilded embossing powder to match my background.

I used a few Nuvo Drops in Gloss White to accent my sentiment and then tied a little bit of dainty black and white twine around my card. I love that it adds interest while keeping things very simple.

This card is so versatile – it can be used for birthdays, encouragement, or just because! These are the best kinds of cards to have in your stash in my opinion.

Let’s see what the rest of the team created!
