Mix and Match Sentiments | The Hedgehog Hollow

Hey friends!

I’m thrilled to be creating a card with two of my very own stamps sets with The Hedgehog Hollow today. I illustrated Feminine Words from the February box and now I’ve illustrated the sentiments for the March box as well. Hooray! Let’s mix and match sentiments to create an easy card today.

To start off, I grabbed my MISTI and both of my stamp sets. I chose the scraipty ‘sister’ and ‘bestie’ along with some sans script sentiments. I arranged these to say ‘always my sister, forever my bestie.’ How cute is that!? I used black ink to stamp these out.

Next, I ink blended on some Distress Oxide ink in Seedless Preserves. I used a foam blending tool for this and kept the ink lightest in the center and darker on the outsides. This creates a bit of a highlight effect for the sentiment in the center.

I grabbed a black ink pad and gently swiped it across the outer edges of the card to create a little interest. I like how this gives the card a sort of grungy feel and really makes it more interesting than just plain ink blending. I used the same ink pad to darken the edges of the card panel as well.

I mounted my card panel on an A2 sized card base and that finished off the card. I love how simply you can mix and match sentiments to create an easy card. This came together in no time!

Hugs and love,
