Hey friends!
Today is an especially exciting day for me to be on The Hedgehog Hollow blog. I am so thrilled to be sharing my first project created with a stamp that I illustrated for The Hedgehog Hollow! I have always been a fan of hand lettering, so I am so thankful for this opportunity to illustrate my own stamp set full of feminine family members. I’m using other stamps in the box alongside mine to create a clean and simple Galentine’s Day card – Let’s check it out! There’s a video below or you can watch HERE on YouTube.
This card came together so quickly, so it’s perfect for your last minute card needs. I stamped out the gorgeous floral heart image from the Mother’s Day stamp set. I used second generation stamping for this which means I inked up the stamp once, stamped it on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped again onto my card panel. This gives a toned down color of your ink and is a great way to stretch your ink pads if you don’t have a lot of color options.

Once my heart was stamped, I grabbed my Feminine Words stamp set and picked the ‘girlfriend’ stamp. I knew I wanted to make a Galentine’s Day card, so this was the perfect choice. I stamped out the word in black ink using my Mini MISTI. I like to use a stamp positioner for sentiments especially because it lets me be sure I can get a nice crisp impression.

I decided to add a heat embossed sentiment strip to my card. I picked ‘good luck’ from one of the January kit’s stamp sets and stamped it on black cardstock with clear embossing ink. I poured white embossing powder on and then tapped off the excess. I melted the embossing powder with my heat tool and trimmed the sentiment into a strip.

I mounted the card front to a pink piece of cardstock and then attached it to a black card base. I added some shimmer to the letters with a glitter brush markers and popped on a few clear sequins for some added sparkle. That finished off this clean and simple Galentine’s Day card!
Hugs and love,

Cute card, especially like the black/ white palette. Soooooo creative and inspiring. Thanks for sharing. Blessings to you and your family.
