Hey friends!
I’m thrilled to be playing with some new Scrapbook.com exclusive products for today’s post. I got a sample of some of the new exclusive stamp sets, stencils, and some ink pads to use for this project. I couldn’t wait to get inky and I hope you love today’s project – a mixed media scrapbook layout. I created a video tutorial as well – you can watch it below or HERE on Youtube.
I started off with a 12×12 piece of canvas textured white cardstock. I grabbed the super cool ‘String Lights’ stencil. I decided to do some ink blending to start off my layout. I used the exclusive hybrid ink pads in Oasis, Parisian Purple, Candy Shop Pink, and Orange Cream. I used the domed blending tools to blend on my ink – it went on so smoothly!

Once my ink blending was done, I decided to add a little black paint with the same stencil, but I turned it 90 degress to add a little more interest. Then, I used the Nuvo Media Spatula to spread some opaque Texture Paste through the Shutters (small) stencil from Dylusions. Once dry, this gives a cool dimensional bit of interest to your project.

Once my texture paste dried, I grabbed Distress Oxide Sprays in Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio. I sprayed these on a piece of scrap plastic, spritzed them with a little water with the Distress Sprayer and used the plastic to ‘smoosh’ the ink onto the cardstock – focusing on the areas with the texture paste. I love this effect! Once the sprays were dry, I used the Bold Caps Outline stamp and Hybrid Black Ink to stamp out a random assortment on letters and numbers throughout my layout.

I decided to add a custom sentiment to my layout using the Vintage Type Lower stamp set. I grabbed one of the Easy Albums 3×4 lined notecards and stamped out ‘don’t bother my brother.’ I trimmed the notecard down and all that was left was to add my photo and embellish! I love mixing and matching unrelated elements to get a cool vibe in a layout. I’m loving the greens and blues in sharp contrast with the black and white here, but that pop of orange is what really brings it all together for me!

I hope you love today’s layout. Be sure to drop me a comment and let me know what you think! I always love to hear your thoughts.
Hugs and love,

Beautiful! A real piece of art!
