The Hedgehog Hollow | September 2019 | Mixed Media Peacock Card

Hey friends!

It’s Jess and I’m excited to share a card with you today using the September 2019 Box contents. I chose to use the ‘Feather Background & Peacock’ set along with the ‘Peacock Silhouettes & Sentiments’ set for my card today.

I started off the card by stamping out the gorgeous peacock image in alcohol safe ink. I colored the peacock with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and drew in a drop shadow in a coordinating color. I used my alcohol markers to color the entire background of my card panel and then went over the background with the clear blender pen to get rid of some of the lines from the chisel end of the marker.

Once my coloring was done, I grabbed some Distress Oxide Ink in Peacock Feathers (because, of course!) and blended on the ink in a random fashion. I was careful not to blend over the whole background because I wanted to give the panel more of a mixed media vibe.

I used the Distress Spray Stain in Picket Fence to add some splatter to the background as well. I treated the surface with an anti-static powder tool to make sure my embossing powder only stuck to my inked areas. Then, I used my Mini MISTI to stamp out two sentiments in Embossing Ink. I poured on white embossing powder and melted it with my heat tool.

I adhered my sentiment strips to the card panel and adhered the panel to a white A2 sized card base. I decided to add a few gel pen accents to the peacock and finished the card off with a few clear sparkling sequins.

This box has some of the most gorgeous images and I hope you’re inspired to create something lovely with them. Be sure to share your projects with us on social media so we can see all the awesome things you’re creating!

Hugs and love,
