Brutus Monroe | Inspiration Team | June Release Items

It’s time for another weekly blog hop with the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team. Woohoo! This week, we’re featuring some of the brand new items from the June Release. There are so many goodies to choose from!

I created this card during one of the live streams during the 24 hour craftathon event on the Brutus Monroe Facebook page. I had a blast making it and hanging out with everyone! To get started, I stamped out the large tree from Tree of Thanks and shaded the whole image with black marker. I wanted to create a silhouette look for the tree and I think this turned out really cool.

Next, I stamped on one of the light images from String Lights in Embossing Ink and then heat embossed it with Alabaster Embossing Powder. This allowed me to do an emboss resist technique with my background.

I used Plum, Rouge, and Honeysuckle Surface Inks to blend on my background color. I was going for an ombre effect with the blending and I think that really played up the magic of the twilight scene.

To finish off the card, I stamped out my sentiment ‘shine on’ and embossed that in Raven Embossing Powder. I added a few clear sequins and then added Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew to each of the light bulbs. I popped up the card front on foam and mounted it to a card base. That finished my card!
