Hey y’all!
I’m excited to be on the Brutus Monroe blog with another card today. I have been pushing myself to try more clean and simple designs lately and I think this one really paid off!

To get started, I stamped out the birdcage image on a piece of white card stock using my Mini MISTI. I stamped a second cage on to a sticky note and used it to mask off the cage on my card stock. I lined up the bird bath and stamped that right on top of the bird cage. This gave the cage a little pedestal to stand on! I really like how that turned out.

Next, I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to color in the images:
Pedestal: VB1, VB2, VB3
Cage: GY1, GB8, BO1
Bird: AP1, AP3, IB1, IB3, DP2, DP3, PV2, BO2

Once my coloring was done, I did also add a ‘drop shadow’ in cool greys around the pedestal and cage to make them appear a little more dimensional. It seems to help them pop off the page a little more.

I stamped out ‘I’m here for you’ in black ink and fussy cut my cute birdie. I popped the bird up on foam and then popped the entire card panel up on foam as well. I mounted this to an A2 sized card base. I finished everything off with a couple of clear bubbles!

Hope you love this vintage sort of encouragement card! Have you gotten crafty with Feathered Friends yet? I’d love to see your projects!
Hugs and love,
