Hedgehog Hollow | April Guest Designer #2

Hey friends!

I’m thrilled to be back on The Hedgehog Hollow blog today for another Guest Design post. Today, I’m sharing a bright and fun card with a little bit of a pink lemonade vibe. I never thought I’d use those words to describe something I created, but here we are!

To start things off, I used a cloud border die cut as a stencil and blended on Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry and Squeeze Lemonade. I feel like these are unexpected colors for clouds, but for some reason I loved them together! I trimmed my panel down to 4in x 5.25 so that I could mount it to an A2 size card base.

Next, I stamped out the Birdhouse Cubby image and colored it up using Copic markers. I kept my color palette pretty small and only chose pinks and yellows. I used the coordinating die to cut out the birdhouse and did the same with the adorable little birdies.

I used my Mini MISTI to stamp out the ‘a little birdie told me…’ sentiment with embossing ink and used white embossing powder. I trimmed a cute tail on the bottom of the sentiment and left the top long so it could hang from the top of the card like a flag or banner.

I cut a cloud border for the bottom of my card to make it look like the birdhouse was popping out of the clouds and ink blended this with the Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide. I gave my birds and the cloud a generous coat of Midas Touch Aqua Shimmer and adhered all of my elements to the card front. I popped my card front up on foam for dimension and added a few clear sequins for a bit of sparkle.

That finished off my card! I’m so thankful to have had the opportunity to be a Guest Designer for The Hedgehog Hollow. Big hugs to all of you and I hope to see you all again soon!
