Happy Wednesday, Friends!
Are you ready for this week’s blog hop with the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team? This week we’re all featuring April subscription items and I know you’re going to love what we’re sharing!
For my card, I decided to use the Stamp Club set – this topsy turvy sort of birthday cake. I stamped it on to a piece of white card stock using Raven Detail Ink and my Mini MISTI. I colored the cake using Copic markers and then got a little crazy.
I used a pencil and wrote out a whimsical ‘happy’ in cursive. I used my Brutus Monroe Craft Glue to trace over my pencil lines. Then, I used black and white striped twine and placed it directly into the glue. This took a LOT of patience and time. When I was finally happy with the result, I moved on to the rest of my sentiment.
I used the Square Alphabet Die Set to cut out ‘oh’ from black card stock. I adhered this to the top portion of my card. I also cut out the letters for ‘day’ – but instead of using the squares, I used the smaller letters from the interior of the die cuts. I layered these over the cake near the bottom of the card.
I mounted my card front on foam tape for dimension and then adhered that to a black and white piece of patterned paper. I added a few pink sequins to liven things up a bit, too. For the finishing touch, I added Glossy Accents to the icing of the cake. I thought it was a fun touch!
Let’s take a look at what the rest of the team created using this month’s subscription items, shall we?
Hugs and love,
