I cannot tell you how incredibly thrilled I am to be sharing this project with you. I have been invited to be a Guest Designer over on the Ranger blog and I hope you’ll head over there and check out my project. You can find the project HERE.
To start things off, I chose three colors from Simon Hurley’s new line – Simon Hurley create. I used Overzealous, Remember Me, and Triple Berry. With the Mini Ink Blending Tool + Replacement Foam Pads, I blended on each color, overlapping each one to get a cool blend of the colors where they met.
Next, I laid the Backsplash stencil on top of my blended background. I used the Ranger Mister to spritz on a coat of water. I let this sit for 15 to 20 seconds before removing the stencil so that the water had a chance to react with the ink. The result is a cool ghosting effect where the stencil design appears darker than the rest of the blended background.
I used Enamel Accents in Black Tie and Glacier White to add a little interest to the background. I put a little of each on my Ranger Craft Mat and spritzed them with water. I used the Splatter Brush to flick the color on to my background.
I chose to use the Trampoline Friends stamp set for this card. It’s so fun and lighthearted. I used two strips of black card stock and heat embossed the sentiments ‘I’m so flipping excited’ and ‘for you’ in white embossing powder. I adhered these to my card panel using Multi Medium Matte.
I chose the cute dog stamp as well as three of the silly bird image. I stamped these with black ink and colored them using Copic markers. I cut them out by hand and adhered them to my card panel. For the dog, I cut the little areas under his arms so it looks like he’s hanging on the black banner strip.
I mounted the card panel on foam to add a bit of dimension and then adhered this to a white A2 card base. That finished off the card!
I hope you love this silly card and that you’ll check out my post over on the Ranger blog and leave me some love.
Hugs and love to you all,
