Simon Hurley create. Happy Birthday Card

Hey friends!

I’m popping in today to share a wild and crazy birthday card featuring products from Simon Hurley create. + Ranger. I’m still so in love with this line, so get ready for more inspiration!

To start things off, I did some ink blending with the Simon Hurley create. dye ink pads. I used Remember Me, Overzealous, and Triple Berry. I loved that it looked sort of like a galaxy, so I decided to use this background along with my Gel Press. I applied black paint to my Gel Press and then laid the Stargazer stencil on top. I pressed by background panel into the stencil and then peeled it off. I repeated this with white paint as well. I really like how only parts of the stencil transferred – I really thought the more whimsical looks was great.

Next, I grabbed some Black Soot Distress Ink and blended on some color to the edges of my panel. This helped the galaxy look come to life and gave me nice clean edges around my background.

I did some stamping and masking with images from Space Training and Bestest Friends using my Mini MISTI. I colored the images with Copic markers and adhered them to my background. I added a coat of Wink of Stella to the bear’s face/helmet area. I trimmed off the parts of the bear that were hanging off the edge of my background panel.

I used black card stock to heat emboss the ‘happy’ banner and ‘birthday’ sentiment in white embossing powder. I adhered both of these to my card front. To finish the card off, I mounted the card front on foam tape and then applied this to a white A2 sized card base.

I love how fun and silly this card is. Do you have someone who would appreciate this style of card? Let me know in the comments!

Hugs and love,
