I’ve been crafting my little heart out over the last week with the brand new line of products from new Ranger Signature Designer, Simon Hurley. Simon is a 16 year old card maker making a huge splash in the creative world. As soon as he debuted his line, I knew I’d be purchasing it and I jumped online to order it the day it became available. If you’ve been following me on YouTube or Instagram, you’ll know that I have been totally obsessed and making all kinds of new projects. Let’s take a look at a few of the cards I’ve made over the last few days.
This card started out as a color swatch guide of the new dye inks in Simon’s collection. As I stamped each color, I knew it would make an awesome background for a card. I colored and cut out the cute ‘dude’ from Dudes Too and adhered him on top of my background. I mounted the card front on foam and attached it to an A2 card base. I finished off the card with a heat embossed sentiment on black cardstock. I love how bright and cheerful this card is!
For the next card, I decided to go more neutral with my color choices. I used ‘Woof’ and ‘Grrr’ and stamped out the ‘dude’ sentiment a few times. I stamped out the adorable critters from Space Training and colored them with Copic markers. I layered a strip of black card stock over the area where the papers met and heat embossed some fun sentiments of encouragement there. This card is so simple, but I think it packs a crafty punch as well.
For my third card, I wanted to showcase how versatile this line of products is. I chose to do some ink blending with Triple Berry, Rosy Cheeks, and Over the Moon. The colors worked together so seamlessly and the blending was like butter! After my ink dried, I used white embossing powder on top with the Flower Garden background stamp. I stamped and fussy cut the letters from Space Training to spell out ‘love you’ and added a heat embossed sentiment strip at the bottom with ‘to the moon and back.’ I absolutely love how this one turned out.
For my last card for today, I used the Space Training set again. I also paired it with the Stargazer stencil from Simon’s line. I used my Gel Press to create a one of a kind background using acrylic paint and the Stargazer stencil. Once that dried – I adhered it to an A2 card base. I colored in the astronaut helmet and cute dog from Space Training and popped it up on foamo for a little dimension. I added glossy accents to the front of the helmet to make it look like glass on the outside. I cut a black strip for the sentiment and heat embossed ‘dude you’re outta this world!’ I finished the card of with a few silver sequins.
I hope you love this inspiration using Simon Hurley’s new line of products: Simone Hurley create. You can check out the supplies I used below if you’re interested in snagging any of them!
