It’s time for another hop with the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team. The theme this week is Subscription items and today, I’m hopping with a fun card inspired by Harry Potter. When I saw the Inspiration Box for February, I was immediately inspired to make this card. My mind went straight to the scene in Harry Potter when all of the letters are rushing in through the fireplace, windows, and doors. I am so thrilled with how this turned out!
I started by stamping out the single envelope image once on my card front and 6 times on my masking paper. I cut out the masks and used these to help me layer on all of the envelopes. This took quite a long time to do, but it was worth the wait!
Once all of my masking and stamping was done, I took a grey Copic Marker and added some basic shading to make the background a little more dimensional. This really gave it the feeling that the letters were all stacked up on top of one another.
Next, I stamped and colored one of the mailbox images. I fussy cut this and layered it on my card. I also cut a piece of black card stock and a piece of the red card stock in the box. I used Golden Gourd embossing powder on the ‘special delivery’ sentiment.
I snagged one of the wax seals from the box and used the Uppercase Alpha dies to cut an H from the red card stock. I used the H as a monogram on the seal – to tie my Hogwarts theme together!
I am so happy that I stuck with all of the masking to finish this card. It was totally worth it. I hope you all love it, too. Tell me in the comments – are you a Harry Potter fan?
Let’s see what the rest of the team created for you:
