Brutus Monroe Team Hop – Favorite Techniques

Hello Crafty Friends!

It’s time for another Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team Hop! This week’s theme is Favorite Techniques. One of my favorite ways to make cards is by using repeat stamping for my background. I’ve also combined some subscription items from January to pull this project together. Items included in these subscriptions are Glitter Glaze, Embossing Powder, Inspiration Box, Stamp Club, and now Stencils, too! You can take a look at all of the options HERE.

For my card, I wanted to show off the Inspiration Box for January. It’s called Love Bug and it is absolutely adorable! There are so many perfectly coordinated items and I love them all. I got started by stamping out the two leaf images from the set with Raven Detail Ink. I colored them with Copic markers and left the rest of my background white.

Next, I matted my card front with black card stock. I decided to also cut a banner for a large sentiment. I used the ‘for my love’ sentiment. I used Embossing Ink and Alabaster Embossing Powder and heat set it with my Wagner heat tool. I popped the banner up on foam and adhered it to my card front.

I stamped out the adorable snails and colored them with Copic markers as well. I fussy cut them and then popped them up on foam to make them even with my banner. I made it look like they were sitting right on top of my banner! I stamped out a little heart as well – I colored that and then added Glossy Accents before popping it up on foam and adding it to my card.

Fo finish things off, I added a couple of sequins and then mounted my whole card front on my white card base. I love the simplicity of this and that it’s not your traditional Valentine’s Day card. Definitely out of the box! Now let’s see what the rest of the team was up to this week.
