My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge 419 + Color Challenge 109

Hey friends! Today I’m sharing a fun card that I made for the current challenges over at My Favorite Things. I actually used both the color scheme and sketch to create this card today. Hooray!

I knew I wanted to use the items from the new release, so I grabbed the absolutely adorable ‘Cute Chemists’ set and got busy. I took the cute molecule image with hearts and stamped it repeatedly all over my background. Then, I did some selective coloring in colors that match the challenge theme. I absolutely love how this turned out – it looks like patterned paper!

Next, I used the Inside Out Stitched Circle STAX to cut a hole in my background. This hurt my heart a little, but that’s okay – now I have a cute patterned circle to use on another project! I decided that I wanted a shaker card, so I used a piece of clear packaging and a whole lot of foam tape to create my shaker circle on the back side of my card panel. I did some ink blending with Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers distress inks and then used my Mini MISTI to stamp out the sentiment in black ink. I filled up my shaker area and then adhered my card base to the back of my card panel.

Down at the bottom, I wanted to shake things up a bit, so I cut a strip of black and white striped paper and layered it under my panel that was popped up on foam. I also added a strip of black cardstock to help break up the two background patterns.

I did some Copic coloring on the sweet little chemist and fussy cut him. I definitely want to pick up the coordinating dies for this set! I used a little foam tape under his feet and Gina K Connect glue on the rest of him. That finished off my card!

I hope you’ll head over to the MFT challenge page and check out their awesome inspiration. I’m always feeling inspired after I leave there! Hugs and love to you all,
