My Favorite Things – Sketch Challenge 418

Hey friends!

I’m back with another card challenge entry for you today! This time, I’m playing along with the Sketch Challenge (#418)! Take a peek below at the sketch for this week, so you’ll know where my inspiration came from for this card.

To get started, I grabbed one of my favorite background stamps – Watercolor Stripes Background. It hasn’t gotten nearly enough love lately, so this was the perfect excuse to pull it out. I stamped my card front with black ink and set it aside to dry. I didn’t bother stamping it more than once because I actually really loved the uneven and splotchy sort of look I got with just one stamp.

Next, I cut down two pieces of cardstock and cut off the corners with a punch. I used my Mini MISTI to stamp my sentiment from Tickled Pink in black ink. I wanted to keep the colors pretty simple for this card, so I stuck to black, white, and pinks.

I decided to use Buildable Blooms to create some fun interest on my card. I selected one of the flowers and stamped it a few times in varying shades of pink. I used Copic markers to shade the flowers and give them a little more dimension, then added some white gel pen accents to the centers.

I ink blended Picked Raspberry Distress Ink on to my larger panel and then popped it up on foam for some added dimension. I layered my white panel on top and then arranged the flowers. I popped one of the flowers up on foam to help create a little more interest. To finish off the card, I added a few clear sequins in various sizes. I absolutely love that subtle sparkle these give!

I hope you enjoyed this card and that the vibrant pink helps to brighten your day. I can’t wait for another challenge to join in on!

Hugs and love to you all,
