Hey friends!
I’m popping in today to share this clean and simple card featuring products from Altenew. I made this card after taking the course ‘Irresistible Inking Techniques’ over at Altenew Academy. There were some really neat ideas and techniques that I’d never even thought to try! One of those techniques is featured in my card today.
To start things off, I used my acrylic block and Stargazer Surface Ink to stamp that cool block of color for my background. When I saw this idea in the course, I just knew I had to try it out. What a cool way to get a focal point on your card.
Then, I chose some stamps for my card. I picked Adore You and Dream Big. I thought they worked beautifully together. I stamped my images in black ink and then used Rouge and Plum surface inks for the butterfly’s layered bits. I used a couple of Copic markers to add some depth to my flower as well.
I used my Mini MISTI to stamp out my sentiments. I chose ‘I adore you,’ and ‘every time I think of you, I smile.’ I thought these two complemented each other perfectly and I really love the pop of that crisp black ink against the other ink choices.
I didn’t have the right colored cardstock for my mat, so I used another technique from the class to help out. I used the same Stargazer ink and swiped it directly on to my cardstock mat. This transformed my plain white cardstock into a perfectly color matched mat for my card front. How cool is that!? No worrying about my colors not matching over here!
I hope you love the way this turned out as much as I do. I love that these classes are really pushing me outside of my comfort zone and encouraging me to try new techniques and card styles. Have you tried any of the Altenew Academy courses yet? What did you think?
Hugs and love,
This looks great and what a great idea to use the stamp block as a stamp to create the focal image. Well done!
