Hey y’all!
It’s time for another team hop with the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Team! Hooray! This week’s theme is Glitter Glaze. Have you tried it yet? If not, now’s the time!
For my card, I knew I wanted to use the Kaleidoscope stencil and Gold Glitter Glaze. I was actually a little apprehensive about the Gold, because it looks really neutral and sort of tan in the container. Boy was I surprised when it dried! That glitter popped right out and you don’t see the ‘natural’ looking base color anymore at all. It’s gorgeous!
I used some washi tape to keep my stencil from moving around and used an old gift card to smear and scrape the glaze over my stencil and cardstock. Make sure you get really good coverage – you can always put the extra back in the bottle, so don’t be shy with it! I set my panel aside to dry and washed my stencil and gift card so the glaze didn’t dry on them.
Next, I pulled out the Ornament Dies from the Christmas Card Kit. I cut one from white cardstock and another from vellum. I swiped my piece of cardstock with embossing ink and then used Christmas Eve Embossing Powder – it’s so bright and shiny! I did two coats to make sure it was all smooth and vibrant. I went back on the top part of the ornament (where it would normally be metal) and used some Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder there. Super easy to get a two-tone look with your embossing powder!
I popped my ornament up on foam and layered the vellum ornament behind it. I also stamped and fussy cut this cute little bunch of holly from the Yuletide Greetings stamp set. I used some dark green twine to ‘hang’ my ornaments from the top of my card and tied cute little bows, too. To finish off the card, I stamped and heat embossed a sentiment from Altenew ‘Happy Holidays’ on black cardstock.
I love how this card turned out and I know you’re going to love what the rest of the team has to share as well. Be sure to hop along and leave them all some love!
