Hey friends!
I’m excited to be on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today with this cool winter card. I have been so inspired by backgrounds like this that I’ve been seeing all over Instagram lately. I love how the colors are vibrant up top and fade into white at the bottom. I thought it would be a perfect technique to try for a winter card!
To start things off, I grabbed some white cardstock and two colors of Distress Ink: Seedless Preserves and Spun Sugar. I started at the top of my cardstock and worked my way down with Spun Sugar. Then, I came in at the top with Seedless Preserves, making sure to blend off some of the ink before starting on my surface. I went back in with the Spun Sugar to get a nice even blend between the colors. I’m so happy with the way it turned out!
I got out my Mini MISTI and stamped these adorable polar bear and penguin images from Neat & Tangled. I’m so in love with this stamp set! I did some basic Copic Coloring, but I wanted to keep the images fairly simple.
I stamped and heat embossed the ‘cool’ sentiment in white and then heat embossed ‘I think you’re’ on black cardstock. I love that this card can be used all winter long but will work for a Christmas card, too!
I cut the card front with a stitched rectangle die and then mounted it on fun foam for some dimension. I mounted all of this on a white card base and that finished my card. Have you tried this fun ink blending technique yet? What did you think?
Hugs and love to you all,
