Altenew Educator Certification Program – Clean & Simple Boutique Cards

Hello!

Today I’m sharing my projects for the Altenew Academy course, ‘Clean & Simple Boutique Cards’. This course features a ton of great tips on creating simple, yet beautiful, cards that will look like they came straight from a fancy boutique! I actually ended up making two projects because I couldn’t decide which style I liked best.

For my first card, I used Halftone Everything to Stamp my background. I also splattered on some black paint and pink flecks (from a Tombow Dual Brush Pen). I used some gold foil strips to stamp the other parts of the sentiment: ‘I’m in awe of,’ and ‘you do.’ I mounted these strips on foam for a little pop of something extra on the card and called it a day. For my second project, I was inspired by one of the cards Jennifer (the instructor) shared featuring repetitive stamping and a loose water color look. I used Ori Kami to stamp out three butterflies on a white card base. I used Aqua Pigments (liquid watercolor) to add some messy and loose watercoloring to my butterflies. I cut a black strip for my sentiment and heat embossed ‘congratulations on your wedding day.’ To finish off my card, I added a feel clear sequins for just a hint of sparkle. Clean and simple cards have always been very difficult for me so I was grateful for the chance to work outside my comfort zone. This course pushes me to try new things and get creative. What more could you ask for?

Hugs and love to you all,
