Hello friends!
I’m so thrilled to tell you that I have recently been accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program. This program will help me on my journey to becoming a certified instructor of Altenew courses and will further my skill as a crafter. I could not be more thrilled to be participating!
For each course offered at Altenew Academy, I will be creating a project showcasing the knowledge, ideas, and inspiration gathered from the lessons. I will share them here with you as I make my progress! I have recently completed the first course, All About Layering 1. The card I’m sharing today features tips and techniques from this course.
To start my card off, I grabbed the Bold Blossom stamp set from Altenew. On white cardstock, I stamped the layered images in two shades of grey ink. On a separate piece of cardstock, I stamped a third flower and used the second generation stamping technique to create a lighter shade of grey. I fussy cut this flower and set it aside for later.
I decided to stamp out some leaves for added interest. I used two layers for each leaf in shades of green, but I left off the outline images for all of my stamps this time. After my foliage stamping was completed, I added my third flower from earlier. I popped it up on foam for some added dimension and coated it with Wink of Stella shimmer pen.
I used black ink and my Mini MISTI to stamp out my sentiment from the ‘Ori Kama’ stamp set. I love how versatile this sentiment is – it would be great for a sympathy card. After my sentiment was nice and crisp, I added a few bits of sparkle with some clear drops and sparkling clear sequins, both from Pretty Pink Posh.
I matted my card front with a slightly larger piece of black cardstock and then adhered my card front to a white, top-folding card base. That finished off my card!
I hope this inspires you to create something today!
Hugs and love to you,
Jess, I think this card is lovely. Using shades of grey for the flowers is really thinking outside the box…something I have trouble doing. Thanks for the inspiration and sharing of the classes!

Thanks, Virginia! I totally misread it and was thinking it was for classes 1-5 rather than groups 1-5! How embarrassing! Thank you so much for moving it over and I will definitely add it to the right place next time! ❤️❤️
