Brutus Monroe Team Hop – Simple Blends

Hey friends!

It’s Wednesday and that means it’s Team Hop Day over at Brutus Monroe. Hooray! For this week’s hop, we’re featuring the Simple Blends line from Brutus Monroe. Each Design Team member has a cool project to share featuring one of the Simple Blends, so be sure to hop along (links at bottom of post) and leave everyone some love!

For my card, I wanted to stay super simple and keep the focus on the SIMPLE blends (ha! See what I did there?). I used the circle Simple Blend to mask off my card front. This left just the circle open so I could do my ink blending. I grabbed Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, and Mowed Lawn for this. I left a faint white area where the sky and ground met – I really like this effect!

Next, I grabbed the Butterfly Sentiments stamp set and chose my favorite three butterfly silhouettes. I decided not to use the fine detail stamps that come with it because I wanted to keep the card nice and simple. I stamped the butterflies in Navy ink from Hero Arts.

I also used the ‘Snap’ stamp set for this card. I chose the ‘you are picture perfect!’ sentiment. I love having cards on hand that work for any occasion, and encouragement cards are the best of all! I stamped the sentiment (and the butterflies from earlier) using my mini MISTI to make sure I got a perfect impression. The sentiment was stamped with Tuxedo Black ink from Memento.

I added some pretty Metallic Rose Gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and then used a bit of Wink of Stella on top of my butterfly silhouettes to give the card a little shimmer. The pictures don’t really capture this well – in person it is so glittery and pretty!
