Hey crafty people!
I’m popping in today to share a scrapbook layout I made using products from American Crafts, Simon Says Stamp, and Brutus Monroe. I love how this came out!
First, let me start by saying I haven’t made a scrapbook layout in YEARS. I have been in full swing card mode and haven’t been documenting my little guys’ lives like I should be (or want to be, more accurately). This was a very welcome change of pace!
I started off with a gorgeous watercolor piece of cardstock from Amy Tangerine’s Sketch Book paper pad. All of the patterned cardstock I used for this layout came from this paper pad (I used the 12×12 pad, not the 6×6 shown).
I grabbed the Beautiful Flowers stamp set from Simon Says Stamp and my Fiskars Stamp Press. I inked up my stamp with VersaFine Onyx Black ink for a perfect impression. I stamped the floral image and the ‘you are a treasure to me’ sentiment as well. I also added a little interest with the Folkwave stencil from Brutus Monroe and a little Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide.
I printed off my photo using matte photo paper because I don’t like the glare and shine from normal photo paper. Then I matted it with some teal shimmer paper from Bazzill. I fussy cut those adorable scallops from one of the other papers from the sketchbook pad and layered them up with my other paper choices. I wanted a little more dimension so I also stamped fussy cut some of the floral images on pink paper from the pack. I used my Copics to add some shading and dimension.
I got out my Mini MISTI and used Versamark ink on a piece of orange paper from the pad. I used white embossing powder to heat set my sentiment. ‘I love you more and more every day. Except yesterday. Yesterday you were pretty annoying.’ I absolutely love this for a sibling layout. Too funny! This stamp is from Simon Says Stamp. I also stamped the sentiment ‘beautiful’ from ‘Beautiful Flowers’ on some of the pink paper and heat embossed that in white as well.
I added a strip of washi tape for a little fun and some clear drops from Pretty Pink Posh to finish off my layout. Hooray!
I love the way this came out – especially for my first layout after such a long break. Do you scrapbook? How do you preserve your memories?
Hugs and love,
