Hey crafty friends!
I wanted to pop in and share a few cards I’ve made using the absolutely gorgeous Shapeabilities ‘Heart Swirl’ Etched Die from Spellbinders. It is seriously one of the coolest dies I’ve ever owned!
I made three similar variations using a few different techniques for these cards. I hope you love them as much as I do!
First up – I grabbed some Distress Oxides and went to town blending some white cardstock. For this combo, I used Peacock Feathers and Seedless Preserves. I just love how the colors work together. So pretty! I die cut the Heart Swirl die from a background I had made previously AND my ink blended panel, then I placed each piece of the ‘negative space’ from the ink blended panel into my die cut. It took…a while lol! It was worth it though.
Next up is a simpler version – but no less pretty! I did some more ink blending for this card. Can you believe I only used ONE color?! I used Distress Ink this time in Seedless Preserves and just applied more pressure and ink in certain areas. Then, I snagged some Distress Spray Stain in Brushed Pewter and gave it a good coating. (You may want to do this outside because the spray gets everywhere!) I cut my Heart Swirl die from black cardstock this time and adhered it to my background. I cut a small piece of black cardstock for the sentiment and white heat embossed it. This card was so majestic looking to me! The sentiment is a nod to Harry Potter. Comment if you got the reference! 🙂
For the last variation I made, I took a little from both of the previous cards. I used the same Distress Spray Stain from the second card on black cardstock and I also used the ink blended die cut from the first card as my main focus here. I love using up all the pieces and was so happy to get the most use out of this die! I love how the ink blended colors look so vibrant against the black background.
Be sure to let me know which card is your favorite! I love hearing from you. ❤
Until next time,
Gorgeous! I love the cards and using Distress Oxides.
