Today I’m sharing a card I made a few days ago using products from Hero Arts and Spellbinders. I entered this into the Watercolor Challenge over on the Hero Arts challenge blog – A Blog Named Hero.
To start my card off, I did some ink smooshing with Peacock Feathers, Twisted Citron, and Broken China. I really liked how these colors blended and complimented each other. Once my cardstock dried most of the way, I used the Hero Arts Large Flower stencil to emboss the cardstock. This gave a really subtle, but cool, bit of added interest to the card.
I grabbed a piece of vellum trim from my stash of scraps and paired it with a black and white striped piece of patterned tape. I stamped the sentiment ‘you make my heart flutter’ from the Hero Arts ‘Layered Butterflies’ stamp set in black ink.
Next, I die cut this incredible dove die from Spellbinders from black cardstock. I coated the whole die cut with glossy accents to give it a dimensional and shiny appearance. Then, I adhered it to my card front once it was dry (it DID take a long time to try because I used so much). I mounted my card front to a white card base and my card was complete.
I just love the way this turned out. The bright blues and greens along with the nice contrast of blacks and whites really spoke to me.
Thanks for checking in and I’ll see you again soon with another card!
