MFT Color Challenge #94 – Mermazing!

Hey crafty friends!

Here’s a quick peek at a card I made for the color challenge over at My Favorite Things. The color combination for this color challenge is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t resist joining in.

I decided to use the Mermazing stamp set and the Mermaid Tail Background stamp. These are some of my very favorite items from MFT. I started off by using the emboss resist technique with VersaMark ink and the Mermaid Tail background. I heat set it with clear embossing powder and then started on some ink blending. I don’t actually have any ink pads from MFT, so I matched some colors from Hero Arts. I used all four colors for the background with the lighter colors in the middle and the darker colors on the top/bottom. This gave me a really cool water and sky effect. I love how it came out!

Next I did some coloring with my Copic markers and got busy die cutting. There were so many pieces to cut out! I got everything arranged how I wanted it and then used Matte Multi Medium to adhere everything to my card panel. I also decided to use some vellum to give a muted look to the underwater portion of my card.

Finally, I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, ‘Sending you oceans of love,’ on a piece of cardstock and blending some coordinating ink over top. To finish off my card, I added some clear droplets from Pretty Pink Posh to help tie together the ‘underwater’ feel of the bottom of the card.

What do you think? Are you going to join in on this awesome color challenge, too?
