I’m joining in on my first ever My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge today. I’ve been seeing them for so long and wanting to join in, but I was too scared I wouldn’t make a good enough card. Today, I’m brave and giving it a try!
Take a peek at the sketch for this week’s challenge:
I decided to use a few different MFT products to bring this card to life. I started off with the Inside Out Stitched Circle Stacks. Then I die cut a scrap piece of cardstock with one of the dies from Stitched Cloud Edges. I used this to ink blend on some Broken China Distress Ink and make a cute cloudy sky panel with my stitched circle. I wanted the circle to be the focus of the card, so I left the card front completely white (this was SO hard for me!).
Next, I grabbed one of my go-to sets from MFT – Magical Dragons. These little guys are just too cute! I picked one of the flying dragons and colored it with Copic markers. I also used the cute little cloud stamp and die and colored that with Copics as well.
I cut a black strip of cardstock and used VersaMark Ink to stamp my sentiment from Essential Sentiments. Then I covered it with white embossing powder from Ranger and heat set it. To finish off my card, I added a few Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
I love the simplicity of this card, but I also love those bright pops of color against the white background. It really makes the focus of the card stand out. Hooray! Are you going to join in on this week’s sketch challenge?
