Hello crafty people!

I’m here with another card walkthrough today – I hope you love it! For this project, I wanted to really stretch the supplies I had on hand, so I was looking for creative ways to use things in my stash.

To start my card off, I used the snowflake from the Craftin Desert Divas digital set called ‘Gingerbread Lane.’ I put the image into my Cricut Design Space software and had the machine cut out several of the snowflakes for me. I’m not very good at cutting things by hand, so this is a lifesaver for me! I glued the snowflakes to a piece of cardstock (4.25×5.5) and them trimmed the excess off.

Next, I put some Distress Ink down on my craft mat (I used Cracked Pistachio and Peacock Feathers). I used my mister to spray the ink so that it would bead up on the mat. Then I turned my card front over and placed it into the ink. I lifted and repeated this several times until I was happy with the way the colors looked. Here’s a look at the way the ink turned out:

I used my heat tool to dry the excess water and set it aside to dry while I worked on other parts of the card. Eventually I did cut the panel with the scalloped rectangle from the Fancy Frame die set. I used the adorable deer image from the Timber stamp set and masked off the parts of the image I didn’t need for this card. I was going for a winter theme, so I just wanted the cute little deer wearing a scarf. I stamped the deer onto a piece of white cardstock and then stamped the image again on a piece of full sticky back post it note. I fussy cut the mask out and placed it on top of my stamped image on the white card stock. I used Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks to add some color to my cardstock, then removed the mask. I used Copic markers to color up my image and finished it off with some Nuvo Crystal Drops in Gloss White.

I added some baker’s twine for an added bit of interest and mounted the little panel on foam dots. Next, I cut 3 banners from the Fancy Frame die set. On one of the pieces, I got creative with my sentiments from the Stars and Wishes set – I masked off parts of the sentiments to use only one word at a time. Doing this allowed me to create my own sentiment using bits from different stamps. I stamped out ‘To my friend’ on the panel and then hand wrote ‘deer’ to make the sentiment ‘To my DEER friend.’

Here’s what the card looked like when everything was said and done:
