Hey everyone!

I’m so excited to be sharing my first card for the new October Release from Craftin Desert Divas! There are too many cute things to count, including the brand new stencil I’m featuring in today’s card. I also used an image from the recently released ‘Christmas Eve’ digital stamp set, and I’m absolutely in love with it!

To start my card off, I used the brand new stencil from CDD. I am thrilled they are offering stencils now, and I’m excited to see the collection continue to grow. This adorable winter wind stencil is perfect for holiday cards, and it definitely sets the mood for mine!  (Note- this stencil is part of the new release and will be available for purchase on 10.13.2017)

I used the emboss resist technique to keep the stenciled area white on my cardstock. Then I used the foam ink blending tool to blend distress inks (Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire) over the heat embossed area. This gives me a beautiful white space where my stencil was. I thought this technique was absolutely perfect for this winter stencil!

Next, I printed off one of the adorable digital stamps from the ‘Christmas Eve’ set. This cat sleeping in front of a window is too cute. I used only warm grey copics (and one black #100) to color the entire image. I’ve been so obsessed with doing this lately. I don’t know why, but it makes me so happy lol! Once my image was colored up, I took a craft knife and cut out each little pane in the window area. This allows you to see through the window and create a scene ‘outside.’

I adhered my inked background to the back of my copic colored image and then mounted both to a piece of patterned cardstock with constellations on it. I adhered all of this to a white card base and that completed my card!

I love how cozy the little kitty looks curled up in front of the window, and that blustery winter sky in the background makes ME want to snuggle up and take a nap! I hope you love the card. Happy crafting, y’all!
