Hey crafters,

Jess here with another Design Team project for the Craftin Desert Divas September Mood Board Challenge. If you haven’t checked out the inspiration for this month’s challenge, hop on over to the Craftin Desert Divas Gallery on Facebook and take a peek. It’s adorable!

This card started out with every intention of following the mood board inspiration very closely, but as you can see- I strayed a little bit from the path LOL! I still got the blue, the yellow, and some grey in there, so at least there’s that.

I started off by coloring up this insanely adorable digital stamp, Stitches, from CDD. I used Copic Sketch markers to color him and the gravestone. I drew a border around the image and cut it out.

Next I created a background using Distress Oxides in Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, and Pumice Stone. I came back in around the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink. To finish off the background, I used some white acrylic paint, spritzed with a little bit of water. I used a paintbrush to flick and splatter a bit of the paint on to my background and then used my heat tool to dry it all.

I printed a silly sentiment, ‘I love you for what’s on the inside,’ (get it? lol) and trimmed it down. I adhered my zombie and my sentiment to the background, matted it with coordinating cardstock, and attached it all to my card base.

For the inside, I printed ‘Mmm, brains…’ and used distress inks again to color the background and edges.

That is it for my card today, I hope you love it! It’s sure got me ready to delve into the full swing of fall – especially my favorite fall movie, Hocus Pocus. This little zombie reminds me of Billy Butcherson and that makes me want to go watch the move right now!

Happy fall,’ y’all!
