Hey crafters!

I know it’s still summer, but can we just pretend it’s not for a minute? Don’t get me wrong, I am in NO hurry to get to the winter part of the year, but I do really (REALLY) love all of the beyond adorable winter themed crafting supplies. All things polar bears, igloos, reindeer, christmas lights- there is just something magical about it all. It gets me in the crafting mood like nobody’s business!

So, today I’m sharing my very first winter card of the year. This mostly flat card features the Ice Bear digital stamp from Craftin Desert Divas. I colored him up with copic markers and set him aside so I could make him a background.

I masked off a circle on my card front using a full stick post it note. Then I used 3 colors of Distress Inks (Broken China, Stormy Sky, and Chipped SapphireChipped Sapphire) to blend a night sky background. I used my foam blending tool, moving in circular motions around the masked circle. This helped to give the moon the appearance of light glowing from it. I love the way it turned out! Next, I took some Lawn Fawn Yeti Pigment Ink and smooshed it on my craft mat. I used a paint brush to flick white specks all over the paper to look like snow. Then, I removed my mask. I just love the reveal of that crisp white space!

I cut the ‘snow bank’ by hand and then adhered my bear to it. I added a little shadow with a copic marker to help it blend in with the snow and then matted my card front on a piece of blue cardstock. Then I attached it to a white card base measuring 4.25 x 5.5. That finished off my card! I’ll add a sentiment to the inside soon. I’m thinking it’ll say ‘You warm my heart on cold days.’ I’ve been practicing some handlettering with the quote and I might use that if I can get it to turn out the way I want.

Thanks for stopping by and see you again on Saturday!

Big hugs,
